DIY: Dry Scalp Treatment

So Winter is on his way wether we like it or not. One of the down sides to Winter is having dry skin/ dry scalp. Your whole body changes and it sucks. Earlier I decided to do a scalp treatment and oh my god, I am so glad I did. You only need two ingredients.

Yes…I said, “Two.”

So first of all, you can use any brand of coconut oil as long as it’s the kind you can spoon out. I got mine from Big Lots. You can use any brand of Apple Cider Vinegar as well I got mine from Walmart. (Also, I know the expiration date has died. I am completely aware of it. However, I am eating this. It is only going on my scalp/hair so it’s perfectly fine.)

Step 1:

You will need 2 tbsp. of coconut oil. Melt the coconut oil in a bowl in the microwave for a couple of seconds. (Depending upon the length of your hair is how much tbsp. you will need.)

Step 2:

Add 1-2 tbsp of ACV and then stir.

Step 3:

Once stirred you will need to massage it into your scalp. (Also since you are using oil, I would recommend wearing an old shirt.)  I massaged it into my scalp and used a tiny comb to brush through mid-way down my hair.

Step 4:

Once your whole scalp is cleansed. You can use the remaining product to saturate the ends of your hair. You can leave it on for 10 minutes or to feel the full effect of it you could also heat a towel up in the dryer and wrap your hair up for the remaining 10 minutes. (It is optional.) I would recommend washing it out with shampoo two times in order to remove the oil.

Coconut oil is so beneficial to our bodies. Wether that be by cooking with it or by using it beauty wise. Coconut oil used for your hair can repair, cleanse scalp/remove dandruff, regrow, and it’s great for dry/damaged hair.

I hope you all enjoyed this DIY! Tell me if you use this or know another DIY scalp treatment.
